It’s not the kind of news gamers like. There have been rumors for a long time, but now Xbox Game Pass has officially introduced significant changes, including a new plan and higher prices. Let’s what has changed.
Xbox Game Pass
We believe that Game Pass needs no introduction. It’s a service that, for relatively low prices, grants subscribers access to hundreds of video games. Some popular releases are even included in Game Pass from day one. Hellblade 2, A Plague Tale: Requiem, Forza Motorsport, and Age of Empires IV are notable examples.
However, it’s not a secret that the service is not as profitable as Microsoft would like. Therefore, every now and then, Game Pass has tried to shake things up by increasing its prices and introducing some additional changes, such as replacing Xbox Live Gold with Game Pass Core. For quite some time, there have been rumors that another revolution was coming its way, and, unfortunately, it has just arrived.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate
First of all, the prices of all Game Pass plans have increased. Game Pass Ultimate pass now costs $19.99 instead of the previous 16.99.
- USD 16.99 -> 19.99
- EUR 14.99 -> 17.99

Game Pass PC
PC players can’t be happy either because they will have to pay 2 additional bucks for the Game Pass PC subscription. Its price went up from $9.99 to 11.99.
- USD 9.99 -> 11.99
- EUR 9.99 -> 11.99
- GBP 7.99 -> 9.99
- AUD 10.95 -> 13,95
- CAD 11.99 -> 14.99

Game Pass Core
The price of Game Pass Core has changed, too. Only a few days ago we had to pay $59.99 for the 12-month plan. Now it’s $74.99. However, there are four countries where the Game Pass Core price remained at the same level. Those lucky markets are Poland (PLN 249), Denmark (DKK 499), Switzerland (CHF 79), and Mexico (MXN 1159).
- USD 59.99 -> 74.99
- EUR 59.99 -> 69.99

- JPY 5378 -> 6500
- NOK 599 -> 649
- SEK 649 -> 729
Xbox Game Pass for Console
The biggest change affects Game Pass for Console, which will disappear soon. It’s already unavailable for new members, but if you have an active subscription, you will keep it as long as you have automatic payment renewal enabled. Moreover, on September 18, 2024, the number of months you can have stacked will decrease from 36 to 13. Fortunately, if you have more added to your account, you won’t lose them.
Xbox Game Pass Standard
One plan disappears, and another one will take its place. Xbox Game Pass Standard will debut in the next few months. It will cost 14.99 dollars and combine the benefits of Xbox Game Pass for Console and Game Pass Core. Hence, it includes online console multiplayer and access to a vast library of games. Unfortunately, there’s one huge exception: the new plan won’t include games released on day one. Hence, to play Frostpunk 2, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Avowed, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, and other new releases, we will need other plans.
Luckily, Xbox Game Pass codes, including Game Pass for Console, remain redeemable. Hence, you can still buy them and add them to your account. Visit GAMIVO to get your membership while it’s still cheap.
