Valheim took the world by surprise. The game developed by Swedish indie Iron Gate Studio become a giant hit. It’s still just an early access version, but it already sold almost 6 million copies. Let’s see why Valheim is worth a try.
Plenty of things to do
Valheim is a survival game, but your mighty Viking has more to do than just to stay alive. As for now, his goal is to slay 5 mythical creatures to prove he’s worthy. Each boss fight is more difficult than the previous one. Therefore, you must upgrade your character’s skills and gear.
To develop your Viking, you must visit biomes. At present, there are six of them:
- The Black Forest
- The Ocean
- The Meadows
- The Mountain
- The Swamp
- The Plains
Each biome has its unique creatures, plants, and resources. There are also many activities – Viking fights, hunts, crafts, and even sails on a boat of his own making. There’s no way to get bored in Valheim!
Valheim is easy to learn
There are a lot of mechanics in Valheim, but they are easy to learn. The skills are increased automatically. If you want to be good at something, just keep doing it! So there’s no need to spend hours in tutorials. You can begin your journey in Velheim right away!
It’s only 1 GB
Valheim doesn’t offer stunning graphics. It doesn’t mean it’s unsightly because it has some delightful retro vibe. Moreover, mediocre graphics has some bright sides. You don’t need the newest GPU. And Valheim requires only 1 GB of disc space, so you don’t have to wait for ages for the games to download and install.
Unleash your creativity

To become a mighty Viking, you need a base where you craft new equipment, keep your resources, etc. To make more complex items, your Viking must build new structures. Thus, his Valheim residence constantly grows. It’s not necessary to polish your base. But if you want, you can create a majestic castle or a perfectly designed village.
There is also a Creativity Mode, where you build with no resource limit. It can be used to create breathtaking and magnificent structures like this impressive Eiffel Tower.
You can play Valheim alone, and you’ll have a ton of fun. Although it’s recommended to form a team of 3 to 5 players. If you have a pack, you can gather and build everything faster.
