The plot of Metro Exodus

To grasp you into this harsh, dangerous and unforgiving world we will unfold just a little bit of secret. As we mentioned earlier story of Metro Exodus is connected to the previous events, but you don’t need to be acknowledged with it. Artem and Anna – our main protagonists, escape the fallen Moscow Metro and engage on a journey – titular Exodus – on a board of train Aurora. Their aim is easy and clear… at least at the first glance. Find new lands, lands capable of providing the essential and vital survival in this radiated and destroyed world.  Together with the order of Spartans they seek new opportunities to revive Russian civilization.

What is Metro Exodus offering to us?

Anyone familiar to the previous installments will feel like home.  The engine remains unchanged, aiming feel as good and smooth as always. Stealth is still really exciting and satisfactory, crafting is even better – many more upgrades and blueprints are available. Almost all of the weapons are fully customizable up to your preference. Silencers, scopes, rounds extenders and many more are waiting to be patched up with any kind of weapon. Especially because there are much more resources to be find.
Artem is naturally equipped with a small, Russian but reliable lighter, a hand-drawn map of surround territories and vital gas mask.
Harsh and minimalistic HUD underlines the whole hopeless situation.
Unlike to the previous game – creators decided to open the whole world. There are less linear and closed location. The focus has been put on the exploration factor as we can discover many sandbox like areas.  They are full of interactable vistas, events and small side-quests. To explore them even more easily, we are offered trolleys or boats for example. To boost the whole experience we are witnessing the day and night cycle. The same goes to the seasons.
As we wade through this radiation waste we are confronting many types of enemies. Humans – robbers, scavengers, beasts and mutants with paranormal abilities.
Other good decision is connected with moral choices put throughout the whole game. Depending on our choices many lives could be saved and vice versa. We need to be careful as our decisions influence the life of our closest team members.
