Game Play
Man of Medan embraces branching more than any other game in the Dark Pictures Anthology. Meaning, you choose your fate. Any decision or choice you make leads to a range of playable scenarios and challenges. Only that your strategies expose all players to death.
If you take into account the possibility of any players’ death, you’ll realize irrespective of the grandness of your choices; you’re never safe. Your friends move also jeopardize your life.
As a protagonist, it’s up to you to end the death cycle. If you figure out the secrets surrounding the ghosts and the wrecked ship, you can save all your friends and return home unharmed.
Players can play online in the shared story mode or invite five friends offline for a remote-controlled movie night mode. In the movie night mode, players choose a character from the five friends going on a voyage.
Choices made influence players’ personality traits and affect the outcome of future scenes and the players’ relationship. Other players might team against you if your moves make them vulnerable.
To counter the ghosts, players strike quick time events and collect “Dark pictures” for insights into the future.
Setting
