There is a whole lot to look forward to as details regarding Halo Infinite continue to get discovered, which has shed even more light on the yet to be released PC, Xbox Scarlett and Xbox One sci-fi shooter game.
Try not to get confused because Halo Infinite is a sequel or a follow up to Halo 5 and not a spin-off. The new release will be an extension of Master Chief’s story. Although there is still a lot more to discover regarding the story, fans of the long-awaited sequel to Halo 5: Guardians have a lot to speculate and here is everything that we know so far:

The release date
Halo Infinite is scheduled to be released during the 2020 winter holidays, although the exact date of the release has not been revealed to the public yet. So far, Microsoft has also revealed at their press conferences that Halo Infinite is set to be a launch title for the next generation console, which has so far been named Scarlett. Halo will also be on PC and is expected that a cross-platform multiplayer will also be included as well.
Details revealed so far
According to the trailer that was displayed recently at E3 2019, Discover Hope is set after 2561, three years after the occurrences of Halo 5: Guardians. The trailer before that, which was displayed at E3 2018 introduced a Pelican screen that displayed data from the date 5/27/2560, which sets the events of the E3 2018 trailer approximately sixteen months before.
Further, the trailers also reveal that humanity also fought on Zeta Halo and lost. In total, all the trailers seem to suggest that Halo Infinite will feature guerrilla warfare and is going to be one of the darkest games to be released in the series. Halo is most popular for its multiplayer mode but there are no details that have been released except the original news from years ago that a local split screen will be featured. Many of the story details are also yet to be released, which forces fans to wait with bated breath.

What we know about Master Chief
As stated above, details regarding the story are still very much under wraps but it is clear that Master Chief is still the protagonist of Halo Infinite. Master Chief, based on the trailers, will have a new look with one of the most notable things being a change in his helmet and armor. At the end of Halo 5, Cortana manages to set himself up as the villain of the game so it will be interesting to see if this detail remains the same in Halo Infinite.
