Try and be a little more aggressive

If you have ever played any game from FromSoftware such as Dark Souls, the norm would be to wait for the perfect opportunity to strike. Although you will still need to find the perfect opportunity to make your move, the best way to overcome an enemy would be to use brute force at the perfect time. While playing, ensure that you keep attacking and watch your strikes so that they can have maximum effect.

Hide

Although Sekiro appears to be an open combat game at first glance, you will actually fair a lot better if you utilize a stealth system to your advantage. As such, take every opportunity that you can get to hide so that you can take down as many enemies as you can when they least expect it. Stealth is an important tactic to have especially as a beginner. You will soon find out how difficult it can be to fight and overcome multiple opponents at once so you should always hide when you can so as to survive as long as possible.

Be careful when attacking

As you might already have figured, the wolf appears to be quite a lot smaller than the majority of the characters in the game. Though you can try and take advantage of this small size by inching or shuffling yourself in between attackers, you should always exercise caution by maintaining your distance especially when an attacker is in your sights. Try and dodge as many attackers as possible but you should be careful because the wolf’s hitbox is larger than you assume.

Escape if you can If you find yourself stuck in a tricky combat situation, you should escape or run away when you get the chance to. Simply use the grappling hook function to get yourself out of a sticky situation, which will give you the time that you need to recover and return stronger than ever.
