There are two groups of sim games. Some drown in the flood of other releases, but others thrive and make bigger careers than anyone could expect. Farming Simulator undoubtedly belongs in the latter group as it has sold over 25 million copies. Let’s talk about the upcoming installment, Farming Simulator 25.
The Farming Simulator series
Giants Software, the developer behind the Farming Simulator series, chooses an interesting publishing policy. The first installment came out in 2008 and was followed by a sequel the next year. Since then, Giants Software has released new installments almost every year, but games for PC and consoles have been coming out alternately with mobile titles. As a result, the studio has more time to add new features. For instance, Farming Simulator 22, released in November 2021, was succeeded in May 2023 by Farming Simulator 23, which is available on iOS, Android, and Nintendo Switch. Console and PC players will get their new game in 2024.
Farming Simulator 25 Release Date and Platforms
Since Farming Simulator 22 is a mobile game, it was logical that its successor must be available on PC and the Sony and Microsoft consoles. Giants Software officially revealed the game in June 2024 and announced that Farming Simulator 25 will come out on November 12, 2024. Players can sow their fields on PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X.
Farming Simulator 25 Gameplay
Like its predecessors, Farming Simulator 25 will allow players to experience the life of a modern farmer without its trials and tribulations. Hence, you don’t have to worry about diseases decimating your stock, locusts plaguing the fields, government subsidies, and other things that make farmers bite their nails.
Players have to cultivate fields, sow, apply fertilizers, and harvest. In Farming Simulator 25, you can be a farmer in Central Europe, North America, and, for the first time, in East Asia. A series of other novelties stem from adding this new region. For instance, two types of rice and spinach join the already wide range of crops you can sow on your field.
Taking care of livestock will be another field of interest for farmers. You can raise animals, including cows, sheep, and chickens. This involves feeding, breeding, and harvesting resources like milk, wool, and eggs. Thanks to the Asian map, a majestic buffalo has entered the scene.
Farming Simulator 25 Vehicles and Machines
A vast array of realistic farming equipment, such as tractors, seeders, plows, and harvesters, is another trademark of the series. Farming Simulator 25 includes 400 machines from new brands, such as:
- Case IH,
- CLAAS,
- Fendt,
- John Deere,
- Kubota,
- Massey Ferguson,
- New Holland,
- Valtra.
Unfortunately, it seems that Lamborghini, my favorite tractor manufacturer from Farm Simulator 15 and 17, is not going to return in the upcoming installment. Plowing the field behind the wheel of a shiny Lambo makes me feel like playing a more relaxing version of Need for Speed. Nonetheless, I’m certain that, among the plethora of available machines, finding a replacement won’t be too difficult.
