description Description and requirements

GREEN HELL is an Open World Survival Simulator set in the uncharted unique setting of the Amazonian rainforest.

You are left alone in the jungle without any food or equipment, trying to survive and find your way out. Clinging to life, the player is set on a journey of durability as the effects of solitude wear heavy not only on the body but also the mind. How long can you survive against the dangers of the unknown?

On this journey, you won’t get any help from the outside world. Equipped only with your bare hands you’ll have to learn actual survival techniques to build shelters, make tools, and craft weapons in order to hunt and defend yourself. Constantly threatened by the jungle you’ll fight with both wild animals and tropical sicknesses. Players will also have to face the traps set by your own mind and fears that crawl in the darkness of the endless jungle.

STORY
You are thrown deep into the emerald and impenetrable Amazonian rain forest. The green hell. Your goal is to survive in the depths of a nightmarish environment using truly intuitive means to escape. Having only a radio at your disposal you will follow the familiar voice of a loved one through this endless and inhospitable jungle, unveiling bit by bit how you got there in the first place. What you discover will be worse than what you fought so hard against to survive.

Green Hell is an Early Access title, so core gameplay mechanics and features may be subject to change.

Green Hell Review

Love the game, the music, the atmosphere, the story is fun. Could improve on the guidance through the missions, maybe increase the usefulness of the walkie talkie in general. Good movement/combat options. Good crafting options. Well-balanced. Could use some more tricks with the plants/vegetation but overall an amazing and well-developed game!

Best survival game!

Green Hell is one of the best survival games I have tried, it is very good, I personally loved it. The game, which is set in the Amazon jungle, has quite good graphics, which combined with its huge map, superbly detailed and full of surprises, along with its realistic mechanics, make it truly seem that you are lost in the jungle. Both the plants and their properties and the species of animals that you can find are real, the survival techniques used by the protagonist as well as the different gadgets that you can build to survive are also used in real life and the manufacturing system, along with the object storage, they are very cool and are quite realistic. The game also has a very good story that makes you think and does not leave anyone who passes it indifferent. Finally I would also like to point out that the game, for its goodness, weighs very little. I highly recommend it to all those fans of realistic games and the survival genre.

Solid Title

If you liked The Forest, you should like this.
From beginning to end this felt very much like The Forest, but I will try to describe the game without comparing it.

I played Green Hell as I like to play most Survival Games: By jumping in without reading reviews or guides, and seeing how far I can get just by following the game cues.
The survival system is mostly well explained via the notebook, and I was able to setup camp and get all needed resources by just following the cues. Although I do think I missed some easier ways to get water initially, as I felt I was always struggling to get fresh water (I refused to drink from the river directly).

Anyway, the story is kinda cool too, and is essentially what drives the game.

Great game but with a few bugs

Clocked 5 hours on one gaming session. It has a brutal learning curve but once you get the hang of things, it gets pretty darn good. However, the next day we tried to play together, the game kept crashing, there's a bug where you spawn in at the starting cliff as though you have never played, a bug where your screen shows you frozen but it carries on playing in background, a bug where it won't even load in. The tutorial is bugged, so you have to end it before it naturally ends else you get a black screen and nothing else. Basically, there's a lot of bugs. However, on the upside, the devs are releasing updates and fixes roughly every week. Co-op mode only just released, so hopefully these teething issues will be over soon. Aside from all the bugs it is *really* fun and a challenging survival game (you have to manage your MACROS!!! D: )

SURVIVAL game

GFX: 9/10
Sound Design: 9/10
Gameplay: 9/10
Performance: 5/10

I read comments and negative reviews, about that game "forcing" the player to check on his/her character's diet constantly, look out for Jungle elements that can kill you such as Jaguars, Cayman Crocodiles, Poison Dart Frogs, Tribal Warriors etc and also people complain that you have to build and create tools and sheds the entire time. Just to save the game you need to build a hut. You need to sleep to regain some energy that you wasted trying to survive. You need to find ways to build numerous tools that make your life easier in the Amazonian Jungle by exploring the areas......

Then what exactly do people expect from survival games nowdays? This is a SURVIVAL game...

Great survival experience

Play this if you like dying.
Honestly though, I skipped right through story mode to play online co-op, and I have to say it's been the most fun experience ever. We died almost every day, and spent way too many lives to figure out the basics, but trying to play this game with logic WORKS. We went from dying every day, to dying some days, to living for 9 days straight! Now that we got survival down, we get to explore, hoping to find some interesting new things.

Really good survival game

Green Hell is a fantastically ferocious adventure that absolutely isn't for everyone. But for players who enjoy being pushed to the breaking point over and over while being forced to figure out a way to combat the unforgiving elements, it's rife with opportunity to float to the top of the wide variety of survival games out there. Just be ready for a constant uphill battle the moment the game is installed.
