Call of Duty Modern Warfare’s new battle royale mode is all the rage right and now you’re looking to be part of the action. If big success in the shortest amount of time is what you’re looking for, then we’ve got the lowdown so you can be battle-ready in no time. Here are five of the best Warzone tips to help you and your squad dominate the competition.
Play as a Team
Battle royale games are all about dropping into a hectic battlefield with another 99 eager opponents and trying to come out on top. Call of Duty Modern Warfare Warzone is no different. It’s important, therefore, to set your team’s survival as a top priority. Assessing situations together and choosing the right time and way to tackle them as a team can mean the difference between scoring some vital kills and a trip to the Gulag. Even though money is collected individually, a squad can and should pool their resources together for all squad members to get the best gear possible.
Parachuting with a Twist
Just like in other BR games, a key aspect of Call of Duty Modern Warfare Warzone is parachuting your way to the battle, but with a few twists. First off, you can deploy your parachute at will to descend at a slower rate. The twist is that the game allows you to cut your chute’s cord so that you can drop faster. You can then redeploy and cut it off again. Doing this allows you to control your descent’s pace.
Always be prepared
One element that makes Call of Duty Modern Warfare Warzone a unique battle royale experience is the Cash economy. As you stealthily roam across the battlefield, killing enemies, checking outbuildings, and completing contracts, you will build up a stash of cash. Once you’ve saved up enough, you can head to a Buy Station to buy gear and powerups, from Armor Plates to UAVs and Precision Airstrikes. It’s tempting to go all-in on these goodies, but remember that Loadout Drops are key to winning the late game. A Loadout Drop will allow all of your squad to pick out from one of your standard multiplayer loadouts, complete with all customizations, so make sure at least one player is saving up.
Fulfill Your Contract
The $6000 for a Loadout Drop Marker is a pretty steep price to pay, but it’s not all hopeless. As you roam around the battlefield in Call of Duty Modern Warfare Warzone, you will come across three different types of opportunities to make good dough called Contracts: Scavenger, Bounties, and Recon.
Scavenger highlights three boxes filled with loot for you to find. Pick up all three and you will be rewarded with oodles of cash. Bounties will mark a specific player for you to assassinate. Take them out and the reward is yours. Finally, Recon marks a specific point on the map which you need to capture.
Use Your Pings
Apex Legends first introduced the ping feature to the BR world and Call of Duty Modern Warfare Warzone has borrowed it as well. Pinging everything, from enemies to objectives, is important to your team communication. A simple press of a button will mark what you’re looking or aiming at, signaling to your teammates that there’s something of interest. Nobody will fault you for making liberal use of this feature.
