The Elder Scrolls Online Greymoor brings people back to a region that people cherished quite a lot, and that’s Skyrim. Ever since Skyrim released back in 2011, people have been obsessed with it, so having a variant of that world in the game is rather exciting. Just like all the other expansions for The Elder Scrolls Online, Greymoor is also comprised of the main expansion pack and a few other DLC to complete the year-long journey.
Game Mecahanics ESO Greymoor
In Greymoor we will explore the Western Skyrim, check the snowy mountains and tundra, so it will be quite the difference when compared to the previous game worlds we saw until now. As you can see, the main focus is to push the game in a rather darker setting, which is a good thing. ESO needs it, and they do a very good job with the process and the experience itself.
There’s a new 12-player trial named Kyne’s Aegis and you also have arrow storms, which are some new world events. These will be a bit different when compared to the previous world events, as well as a bit more challenging too. We also have a story set in Skyrim, although it won’t be in the central Skyrim. We don’t know if they will keep that for new expansion or anything like that.
Gameplay ESO Greymoor
The Elder Scrolls Online Greymoor also comes with an antiquities system. As the name suggests, there are lots of different lost artifacts in the game, scattered throughout the game world. And you will have to do everything in your power to try and recover them the best way that you can.
You also get the regular, new public dungeons and delves. They do want to make some changes to the vampire skill line, which will be free for all, the players. Battling vampires in the story can be an interesting approach and it certainly encourages you to try out some new ideas and mechanics.
Plot and storyline
What we didn’t know is when The Elder Scrolls Online Greymoor takes place. This is set 900 years before Skyrim’s story, so this is quite different. It’s a different place with some interesting locations. Bringing in the idea that you are battling a vampire lord is rather exciting and it goes to show the immersion provided by the story and the overall location.
However, is The Elder Scrolls Online Greymoor necessary if you already have the base game? That all comes down to how much you want new content or how important it is for you to visit some parts of Skyrim. Also, we don’t know if they will have the same approach, they had with Elsweyr where the expansion had only some of the new maps, and you had to buy a new DLC to complete the pack. Considering the release schedule is almost the same as last year, we can expect another DLC later down the line to complete everything. But in the end, what matters is that The Elder Scrolls Online Greymoor manages to bring in even more content, and it finally gets us to a familiar location!
